Heat, Humidity -- & Fireflies!

Oh, the delights of the mid-west – heat, humidity – and fire flies! We love watching them light up the night. And nights do cool down a lot, too. Miss Winnie had her rear brake cylinder replaced, so all's well.

Here’s our former house in Wheaton (4th out of 6) – it appears to be empty.

Friday night we spent at Heather’s cousin’s place. Mary invited other “old” friends and we enjoyed a backyard BBQ (the women stayed inside while the men did the grilling!). The image below is from their back deck. Wow!

Saturday night we parked at Bruce and Pam's, home school friends in Wheaton from many years ago. We caught up on news. They are off to Seattle for a week - too bad! We wish we could be there to help entertain them.
After worshiping with friends at Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park (where Heather was born), we left for a Thompson family get-together way out in the country. On our way, we were stopped several times in the town of Oswego by a very long parade – not sure what that was all about on Father’s Day. BTW, Roger's 2nd cousins are part of the Thompson clan.

At the family get-together a preschooler walked into the pool. His mother, fully dressed, had to go in after him. Our hearts were beating fast, but he came up smiling!! Roger was talked into riding a 4-wheeler - it took a lot of persuading.

We staying in a Jellystone Park RV camping resort tonight. The most expensive park we've stayed at on this trip and definitely NOT worth the price... but not much choice.
