Tuesday
evening – relaxing in Miss Winnie in a heavily wooded RV park near Washington DC.
We spent
a lot of time last evening reminiscing with Paul and Jean – friends we met on the Logos Hope
ship in 2007, and have many memories.
I also brought
along my keyboard and we enjoyed singing the same songs we sang on the ship –
or more accurately, in the villa after a day of working on the ship in Trogir, Croatia.
And we
played games. Roger & I were introduced to a new game, CatchPhrase, we’ll need to add to
our collection. It’s a Scrabble product. We still play
regular Scrabble every week (Sundays if possible).
This morning
we left their place in Mebane, NC, and headed for the Marine Corp Museum in
Quantico, VA. There’s a lot to see and 2 hours didn’t do it justice. We feel a
special kinship with Marines, since Alan was active duty for 8 years. We were reminded again today that "once a
Marine, always a Marine!" Sorry about this picture. I (Roger) was so engrossed in seeing the place that I forgot to take pictures for the blog. I grabbed this quick shot on our way out as they were closing the doors.
Tomorrow
we plan to drive to Annapolis, MD, where we’ll spend a few days with a friend I
(Heather) once worked with in the 70’s.
Thanks
for all your prayers. We came pretty close to an accident today when, in the
rain, going around a corner, almost right in front of us traffic had come to a
complete standstill. No warning. There was an accident up ahead and it stopped
everyone.
God is
good and we are blessed!
