We’ve found that dress is very important. Business men
wear suits, no matter the weather nor the transportation mode (often bikes).
School kids wear uniforms.
Preschoolers wear matching colored hats (we haven't quite decided if it's by classroom or age or ?):
Soccer is popular – this little girl, Eri, wears
her soccer outfit very often!
Women wear dresses and long skirts, along with heels, even on their bikes! It’s
not uncommon for them to carry an umbrella to keep the sun off (yes, even on their bikes!).
The traffic/parking police ride their bikes around in
their green uniform. & they will not let you stay parked on the street very long. We watched them scold the driver of a truck that was unloading - while parked on the street, blocking most of the one lane and sidewalk. But where's he to park???
