HOME

We left early Monday morning, heading for home. It took 2 full days, but we made it at a good time. We decided not to unload everything, since we were bushed!

On the way, we noticed 2 flags - wind blown in opposite directions! Most unusual. Gas was cheap in Cle Elum, and we tanked up. At Indian John Hill we emptied our tanks.

It was a good trip and we are grateful to be home again. Tomorrow is a full day, up to B.C.

Our Visit

On Thursday we entertained the family in the R.V. The kids love being here. They know where the game drawer is, and always check it out.

The weather was good enough that they could also play outside in the 2 playgrounds that are here.

Roger and Wyatt went on a long walk. Heather and Wyatt went out butterfly catching - not successfully, however!

Pizza and a Mother’s Day bouquet were delivered to us! On Friday they were back – what a treat to have time with them! Zoey, 9, Wyatt, 6, and baby Odin, 10 months.

Wyatt spent the night with us in the R.V. He did very well - even joined us in evening prayers. Saturday we all went to their house for bar-b-que.

On Sunday they joined us at church;

from there we went to Sturgis to Josh’s place. He wasn’t there, but Scarlett and Brandi were. We ate together & caught up on news. Then played some games. (I won at National Parks Monopoly!) We’ll be leaving early tomorrow heading home.

South Dakota

From Austin, WI, we drove to Rapid City, SD. We made our last stop at Aldi’s – a favorite grocery store. We even found frozen Gino’s pizza at Aldi’s! And, or course, our delicious German chocolate at a great price.

We crossed the mighty Mississippi River into MN. Then not too much later, the Missouri River. Once in SD, very strong winds buffeted us, pushing us around like we were lightweight. A violent rain storm slowed us down, but also cleaned the bug smeared windshield. Heavy smoke from Canadian fires covered the area for many miles as far as one could see.

Now we are situated in a nice R.V. park in Rapid City for the next 4 nights. The kids and grandkids made a brief stop over to give us good night hugs!

Sights along the way...

Spring is a great time to travel – usually the weather is quite cooperative; traffic is thin because kids are still in school.

We see beautiful clusters of many-colored wild flowers growing profusely along the highways.

Trees are blooming in white, yellow, red, pink & purple.

Trains a mile long move slowly across the open prairie.

Telephone poles line up perfectly for a second as we drive by them.

Newly plowed and planted fields show off their black dirt and tiny green seedlings. The fields are flat enough to see forever...

The clouds dance across the sky; then darken and rain washes our windshield. Once again the sun comes out and the clouds stay distant. I love watching cloud formations! God uses them as His chariot.

Jutting rock structures defy gravity. The structures are as varied as the flowers in color and shape! Hills are covered with newly green-leafed trees.

Even the roads come in different colors – grey, black, red and lots of in between shades.

Billboards mostly advertise lawyers, but some herald the Good News of eternal life to only be found in Jesus Christ! They warn of the 2 eternal destinations of all people.
