Our Greatest Trial so Far

On Friday, on our way to Child Evangelism Fellowship to volunteer, the R.V. decided it had had it with all the jars and shakes. It quit! After several attempts at diagnosing, it was determined that a head gasket leaked and let coolant into the cylinders. This is serious! We are stuck in Effingham, IL! We made it to a Walmart parking lot and they graciously have let us stay while we try to work out the issues.

In this town, Sundays is special and many places are closed. So, while Roger was at Walmart Sunday morning, he started talking with a lady getting ice. Turns out, she was a Christian and getting the ice for a church dinner. She invited us to her church. We had decided to walk to the nearest one, but she drove us to hers instead. After a great Sunday School teaching, a southern gospel quartet led ½ of the morning service. It was very inspiring. The pastor then brought an abbreviated message and then – guess what! – they had a dinner! So we enjoyed great preaching, music and dinner. We spent the afternoon packing up the R.V. Monday will see us buying or leasing a car, emptying the R.V. and making arrangements for it. Either to junk it or pay big money to get it fixed. At this point, we are praying for wisdom.
