Moving - NC, TN, VA, TN, KY, OH

There’s a tiny part of a highway that dips back into TN from VA. We were welcomed into VA, but there was not a second welcome when we re-entered TN!!

One thing about traveling in the southern States especially is all the churches! We just couldn’t help but comment on one after another – mostly Baptist down south. (pronounced Babtis) As we have now moved further north, there are still a lot of churches, but with more denominational variety.

The weather has warmed up after I pulled out a long-sleeved shirt the other day! Yesterday we had a lot of heavy rain – and also the night before last. It sounds great in the R.V. – and covers other sounds. We sleep well night after night.

Our first stop in OH was with Roger’s second cousin, Kathy. She’s become a widow since we last visited. Her daughter and family are living with her now – including a 6 year old adopted grandson. He keeps them all young and active! It was good to see her again.

Spacious Skies R.V. Park

Crystal and Ellie joined us for a fun weekend. We put a 550 piece puzzle together. The park has a swing set, trampoline-type jumping area, a mine for minerals, and other fun things for kids. Roger lit a fire in the pit for the evening and we had hot dogs and marshmallows.

Sunday we drove to a large church, Berean Baptist Church. The Sunday school class was on Hebrews 11 – identifying all those who are just mentioned by event, not name. The service was very different – pastor left the pulpit and walked among the congregation, asking for answers to questions. He spoke on John 6:22-34. Jesus said, “Believe”. The music was enjoyable.

After a chef salad lunch, Crystal and Ellie left for home. Roger vacuumed the R.V. and I prepared my teaching lesson.

At the OM book warehouse

On Tuesday we were treated to a pizza lunch by the literature team. It’s encouraging to hear that their 3 bookstores are selling very well. The books are reaching many people.

On Wednesday evening we attended the prayer meeting that meets right here on campus. The “old timers” remembered us. It was great to see them again. Heather played the piano for the hymns.

On Thursday we treated everyone to an ice cream social - it was warm enough that we thought it appropriate! Also got our laundry done, so we’re ready to pull out right after work tomorrow. We’ll miss the place!

There are many flags mounted around the book sorting area.
