Spring 2018 RV Trip 4th Posting

Our visit with Pioneers was very encouraging – lots going on and God is obviously working! You really should plan a trip down here – they’re building a Holiday Inn Express on the property (they’re leasing the land and someone else is building. When he passes away, the hotel becomes the mission’s.)
We left Orlando for Sebring, where we have several friends living. It’s a retirement facility for missionaries who have served overseas. Other than the large aggressive alligator that was just removed from the land, it’s a great place to stay!
We really enjoyed hearing stories of co-missionaries of Heather’s aunt Linda, who served in Nigeria for 44+ years. Between both of our missionary families, there were many connections. It’s a little foretaste of Heaven!

From there we drove to Florence, SC, the headquarters for Operation Mobilization’s ship Logos Hope – the ship we served on 11 years ago in Croatia.

They have the book warehouse here that serves the ship, and so we sorted and stacked books, books, books!! We were told they recently received 70 pallets of Bibles! A bookstore owner in the Philippines buys books from them – by the container!! He owns 100 bookstores. They’ve also shipped containers to several African countries. And they sell online, as well as stocking the ship. (A pallet is approximately 4’x4’x3’ high, shrink-wrapped.)
We met one of the workers here when we served on board ship in Croatia. He’s since married. We were glad to attend Wednesday evening prayer meeting with them. On Thursday we ate at Lizard’s Thicket restaurant with other OM friends. It was very good food. We were not served any lizards, but here's what they would look like...
